Rayen

The region of enchantment

Rayen

Never Cease to Amaze

Rayen is located in the countryside of the highest mountain in south Iran and this geographical placement gives this place the advantage of having pleasant weather in a desertic region.

In each season, there is something to see and experience in this place. For instance, you can visit the cool villages like Bab-zangi and Gishigan in the hot part of the year and the Stone Kaluts in cold times. Moreover, there is the citadel and the Hezar mountain where each season will be a new experience for you.

The Town Of Rayen

The Ancient Castle of Rayen

This town thrived in the Sassanid era -about 2000 years ago- and ever since was among the main stops for the caravans who went from west to east or vice versa. Nowadays, it has a population of about 15,000 and is one of the main attractions of Kerman province.

The ancient castle of Rayen which is believed to be the second biggest adobe -the first being the citadel of Bam- structure in the world was built in the Sassanid era too.

Besides from the citadel, the town itself is a really cool old place. The narrow alleys, old adobe houses, and friendly people are just among the reasons why you should spend some quality time there.
