2 Days hiking tour of Hezar mountain | South Face

Hezar is located in Baft region of Kerman, south-east of Iran and with an elevation of 4500 meters;  it is the highest peak in Kerman Province.

In this hiking tour we will explore the southern face of Hezar mountain where the Babzangi village is located. Babzangi has an elevation of 3300m; thus, considered as the highest village in Iran. This high elevation has made this village into something extraordinary; all the green lands, trees, vegetations, hills, water and of course the best part is the village itself.

Since you’re starting your hike from a very high elevation, the souther face of Hezar is the easiest one and the first half of it is without any challenge. However, the second half needs more physical abilities but you will paid with an amazing landscape when you reach the peak which is the 4th highest one in Iran; the view it utterly magical.

Itinerary:

Day 1:

Leaving Kerman early afternoon, we will begin our tour to Babzangi village by about 2 hours of driving.

On our arrival we make our camp our will be guided to our host house (depending on season and preference of the customer). Later we go for a quick tour of the village and surroundings; and lastly we come back to our camp for dinner, night photography and a great camping night.

Day 2:

After putting our gears on, We will start our hike early morning to the peak. It’s going to be a pleasant hike for the first 2 hours; thus we’re going to enjoy the landscape till we get to a spring and that’s our rest stop before the main activity begins. After that point there is a slop where the ground will get more steep and the land slippery. About 1 hour later we will pass that slope and reach the top of the mountain and from that point to peak there is only one hour of moderate trekking. At last we are at top of the Hezar mountain and will spend some time over there taking photos and eating to gain our energy for going back which will take about 3 hours. Afterward we take a rest in the village, pack our bags and finally we head to Kerman and will be there in the night.
