2 Days hiking tour of Joopar mountain | Shelter

If you are into mountaineering, Joopar mountain is your answer in Kerman. This mountain has couple of peaks over 4000m and getting to top is always a challenge.

In this tour we will get to the shelter of Joopar mountain and it’s a kind of base camp for ascending the summits and a this shelter or hut is the best place for camping over there. There is a river beside it where you can get water and you can find sticks if you want to make a fire.

But don’t underestimate this trekking tour; it’s not an easy task at all! For, you have to be a good rock climber and be on shape to cross the challenges that are waiting for you.

Itinerary:

Day 1:

Leaving Kerman in the afternoon we start our tour and this part of our trip is about 1 hour of driving.

After reaching our destination which is an entrance to a valley we have to hike for about 5 hours. The first 2 hours will be passed by crossing that valley which is not a hard task. However, after that we will reach a dead end where we have to climb the rocks which is called “Divare Rajab” (Rajab wall) and this is where the real hike will start. The time that will be consumed in this second part is hugely after by the size and capability of the group. When we reach the top the third part of our trekking tour will start where we will cross the beautiful joupar mountain hillside; this part is not challenging and takes about 1 hour of hiking.

Our 2nd challenge is waiting for us at the end of a curve where we have to go down to the river bank and up again toward the hillside. This place is called “khar paran” (where the donkeys fall) For doing so we have to cross a super narrow pass (some parts less that 4 cm) while supporting ourselves by hanging on a wire rope. Finally we are on the hillside again and after hiking for another 30min we will reach the Jupars’s shelter. In total we will trek about 5-6 hours this day.

At night we spend our time by camping around the fire, drinking hot tea, eating and tell each other anecdotes while we are looking at the amazing night sky.

Day 2:

After eating our breakfast and enjoying the the magnificent landscape with morning fresh air we will leave the area the way come to go to Kerman. This trek should take another 5-6 hours.
