3 Days trekking tour of Joopar mountain | Shelter
If you are into mountaineering and looking for a tough climb; Joopar mountain is your answer in Kerman. This mountain has couple of peaks over 4000m and getting to top is always a challenge.
In this tour of Seh Sakh peak, in the first day, we will get to the shelter of Joopar mountain which the base camp for ascending the summits of Joupar. There is a river beside it where you can get water and you can find sticks if you want to make a fire.
Next, in early morning of the next day we will start our climb toward the main peak and there will be many challenges ahead. As a matter of fact, it will take about 12 hours to get there and go back to the shelter. Finally after reaching the shelter we will take easy, rest and spend another night over there.
At the end, we will go back to Kerman by the same way.
Leaving Kerman in the afternoon we start our tour and this part of our trip is about 1 hour of driving.
After reaching our destination which is an entrance to a valley we have to hike for about 5 hours. The first 2 hours will be passed by crossing that valley which is not a hard task. However, after that we will reach a dead end where we have to climb the rocks which is called “Divare Rajab” (Rajab wall) and this is where the real hike will start. The time that will be consumed in this second part is hugely after by the size and capability of the group. When we reach the top the third part of our trekking tour will start where we will cross the beautiful joupar mountain hillside; this part is not challenging and takes about 1 hour of hiking.
Our 2nd challenge is waiting for us at the end of a curve where we have to go down to the river bank and up again toward the hillside. This place is called “khar paran” (where the donkeys fall) For doing so we have to cross a super narrow pass (some parts less that 4 cm) while supporting ourselves by hanging on a wire rope. Finally we are on the hillside again and after hiking for another 30min we will reach the Jupars’s shelter. In total we will trek about 5-6 hours this day.
At night we spend our time by camping around the fire, drinking hot tea, eating and tell each other anecdotes while we are looking at the amazing night sky.
After waking up about 4 in the morning we will start our hike toward the peak.
The first part of the way is not that challenging as is about 2 hours where we reach the point that we eat our breakfast.
Next we have to go up along a valley where the soil is not firm, so going up is dangerous and hard and we have to do it with utmost care and will take about 3 hours.
After that we have to traverse toward the peak which will take another 2 hours.
Coming down is not easy as well, we have to be extra carefull and watch over our team members since it’s too easy to walk on a loose rock an cause them serius damage. This part will take about 4-5 hours.
Finally we will reach the shelter rest and regain our energy for the next day.
After eating our breakfast and enjoying the the magnificent landscape with morning fresh air we will leave the area the way come to go to Kerman. This trek should take another 5-6 hours.
